This is one of the most profound movies that was released this year. Denzel Washington plays the role of the professed Eli. Throughout the movie there is a lot of blood flowing and in the midst of the violence Denzel Washington is heard saying some extremely profound words which are quotes from the Bible, which at times sound like threats from the Bible.
The movie is about the apocalypse and is one of the best apocalyptic movies in the past few years. The world’s end is near and director Albert Hughes and Allen Hughes manage to choose the perfect place to show the end of the world, the desert.
The Book of Eli movie starts with Denzel Washington wandering the desert with his backpack and then he stumbles up on a small American town in the West. His presence is felt right away as he gets into a bar fight for a woman named Solara, in which he almost kills everyone in the bar.
The town’s chief notices Eli’s fighting skills and asks him to stay and help them with their problems. He offers food and shelter to Eli in his town, along with Solara in hope that she can seduce him to stay with them. But Solara soon finds out and reports to the chief that Eli has the book, the Bible, which is the last remaining copy on our planet.
Eli then has to fight for his life to safeguard the book and the movie takes a number of unexpected twists and turns with some excellent action scenes.
