The Blind Side deals with the fascinating and inspiring real story of Michael Oher. He was a destitute African-American teenager from a broken family. While spotting him on the road in his vagabond outlook, the Touhys, an aristocratic white family adopts him as its own. The caring family members assist Oher to materialize his dream. The association with Oher helped the Touhys family members also discovered the true inner sides of their own selves. While residing in a new family atmosphere, the talented youngster faces new hardships as well as flood of love. The affectionate family members as well as guiding coaches help him to pursue both studies and soccer sport. Ultimately Oher established himself as a reputed football player.
There are few sports movies, which can ensure complete satisfaction for the movie fans as well as sports fanatics. It has been noted that sports flicks generally attract only the lovers of a particular game with their over dependence on games. However, general moviegoers cannot find proper food for their hearts by watching these films. But The Blind Side has excellently juggled both sports as well as familial drama. Direction and cinematography have added charm to this film. The stark contrast between the early life and the successful life of Michael has been vividly portrayed. The sports, scenes, Oher’s training and his other activities will simply enchant the viewers. The flamboyant acting has enhanced the essence of reality in The Blind Side. The two main actors Quinton Aaron and Sandra Bullock have exceptionally excelled in the roles of Michael Oher and Leigh Anne respectively. It is quite exciting episode when a timid Oher turns into offensive tacklers. Scriptwriter John Lee Hancock has played a major role in turning Michael Lewis’ famous book into a magnificent visual art. The Blind Side is truly a joyous story of human achievement.
True human stories have their share of grandeur. But it is quite an arduous task for the director and other crewmembers of a film to create a sensational effect on the real stories without indulging in fantasy tales. John Lee Hancock has done a praiseworthy job by recreating the true events from the life of Oher.
